Measures to encourage investment particularly in tourism were adopted like exemption of taxes on imported construction materials, as well as other forms of encouragement. The primary sector is a top priority. One strategy to achieve this objective is the reinforcement of Public Private Partnerships (PPP) through investments necessary for the development of the primary sector. The 2008 budget law grants tax abatement and exoneration to products and equipment intended for the primary sector. Other benefits in kind (concession of land, equipment, fishing zones or drilling for irrigation water) are granted to promoters in this sector. The government put in place facilities to grant investment loans so as to swiftly develop the sectors of agriculture, livestock and fisheries. |
