Thailand Investment Year
Throughout this year, the BOI is now offering special incentives under the "Thailand Investment Year" campaign. Investors who submit applications located in any province except Bangkok by December 31, 2009 will get the following incentives if approved: duty exemption on, machinery and raw material; 8-year exemption of corporate income tax; 50% reduction of corporate income tax for 5 years; double deduction on transportation, electricity and water supply costs; and 25% deduction from net profit for facility installation and construction costs in addition to normal capital depreciation.
The Thailand Investment Year promotion package is offered to investors in six key industries:
- Activity group related to energy conservation and alternative energy
- Activity group related to high technology
- Activity group related to manufacturing eco-friendly materials and products
- Activity group related to mega-projects
- Activity group related to tourism and real estate
- Activity group related to high technology in agricultural industries
Faster services and approval process are also among the incentives provided to investors in order to help them do business with greater ease and convenience.
