  • One of the most significant incentives is the country’s tax-free status on income. Capital gains, corporate earnings, personal income, sales, inheritance and dividends are tax exempt. This exemption extends to all resident corporations, partnerships, individuals and trusts.
  • Investment incentives include relief from customs duties on the importation of certain approved raw materials, equipment and building supplies, as well as exemptions from real property taxes for up to 20 years.

Hotel and resort development

  1. Hotels - duty-free importation of building supplies and exemption from real property tax for 10 years and a nominal tax for the ensuing 10 years for hotels and resorts;
  2. Timeshare - duty-free concessions for building supplies for the construction of timeshare facilities.
  3. Manufacturing & Industries

    1. Light Industry - custom duty exemption on specified raw materials, supplies and equipment for agriculture, floriculture, horticulture, fisheries, forestry, cottage and light industries, and commercial printing;
    2. Heavy Industry - customs duty exemption on the importation of machinery, raw materials and building supplies and exemption from the payment of real property tax for a 15-year period.
    3. Manufacture of spirits and beers - the exemption from the payment of customs duties on building materials, equipment and approved raw materials and real property taxes for periods up to 20 years;
